Some of the specimens are red, and some are red with black mixed in. The Lincoln LaPaz collection has the best red color I have seen. The LaPaz red trinitite was the source for the testing done and the discovery of the quasicrystals in May of 2021, so it is much desired by serious collectors.

Pricing is determined by the amount of red coloring on/through a specimen, overall quality and size.

All specimens are photographed on a 1cm. grid sheet. Specimens are weighed on three separate gram scales for accuracy. Your scale may vary slightly.

You will receive a copy of the test results for the trinitite, a history of the collector and two ID cards for display.

0.73 gram blood red trinitite from the Lincoln La Paz collection. This is a small, but superb colored piece! This piece has multiple feldspar inclusions on the top and bottom. It also has a black crust on the bottom found on pieces collected closer to ground zero. The core is a nice red and the red color runs through the specimen. It is also blue and yellow fluorescent under short wave UV light. I am using a UV Systems Superbright 2000 for the photos.

This piece shows a cool red heart design on the left with a red stripe running up through the specimen, Smaller red areas spotted on the piece. The bottom has a thick black crust in areas, found on specimens that were collected closer to ground zero. 12.90 gram extra large red and black trinitite from the Lincoln La Paz collection. This piece is an exceptional size and not offered very often. The piece is solid red, with some small black areas. It can be picked up on one end with a rare earth magnet. It is fluorescent under a shortwave UV light. I am using a Superbright 2000 light from UV Systems. The bottom has a thick black crust found on specimens that were collected closer to ground zero. 77.32 gram large red and green trinitite from the Lincoln La Paz collection. As far as we know, this is the largest red trinitite still in existence. This piece is an exceptional, hand size specimen, green on the surface, but the core is red. The piece has been repaired from a previous break. The thought was to maybe leave it as is, with the pieces separated, but the decision was made to restore it because of its large size and historical significance.
